There is a great deal of mystery when it comes to discussing secret societies in Haiti and there is a good reason for that and it's because they are "secret"! Structures, purposes and practices remain in the shadows if you do not belong to such societies and for good reasons. This mini video blog provides an "on the surface" exploration of these societies. The purpose is to give some preliminary insight on how they came to be, how they function and the difference between such societies and Vodou. I have acquaintances and elders that are part of these societies, but I am not! They share very limited information and they are extremely secretive.
I also discuss "zombification" and explain what zombies are and how they are made. I touch on how zombification is also a form of social punishment.
